If it feels like people are progressing faster than you
For those of you who’d rather watch it:
Out the gate, disclaimer: keep in mind that everyone is not publishing the slow burns, or the small wins that happen every day in a more realistic timeframe. People aren’t publishing everytime their new initiative flops or when there’s a setback. Everyone is publishing wins and most newsworthy moments. If you’re going to consume social media, (which is in essence consuming a higher dosage of information in one go than we were ever designed to intake) do so with this context front of mind.
Now that we got that out of the way…
You are holding on to paradigms that are keeping you small, and making you move slower.
Every part of our reality comes from us, and comes back to us.
You’ve heard thousands of “come up” stories, rags-to-riches stories of people who seemed to just GO GET IT BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY, and we often look at those stories and say:
“Well, that’s an anomaly. That guy or girl is a freak of nature. They’re just built different.”
Here’s the truth:
They’ve built their minds to be different.
They aren’t built different. They’ve built their minds to be different.
There is a difference.
One way sounds passive, like they were just born with some superhuman ability that the common man is incapable of, and the other is active. Meaning, they built up their internal structure to be able to withstand what most people choose not to.
It’s not that we can’t, it’s just that we choose not to. Usually on a subconscious level.
Your Subconscious Mind
There is so much happening in our subconscious minds, that is governing everything about our days and our lives. Our choices and our actions. But we don’t realize it. So we see these things about ourselves, or ways we respond in certain situations, and we just think:
“This is just who we are.”
When no, you are really being affected by so many external and internally embedded elements that you have no clue about.
People who have connected to the road of self-development start to get the hang of things in their reality. With practice, they start to grab onto the handlebars, and steer life in the direction that they want things to go.
But from an outside point of view, you look at them, and you don’t see the work that goes into that, and you just sigh. And you think, “man, they are so much better at this life thing than I am.”
When this really isn’t the case. They’ve simply connected to the game.
The Prompt
Recognize that you are here for a reason, and there are certain prompts you need to work to complete within yourself. There are internal quests you are meant to engage in – but if you are so unaware and unconscious to the fact that your mind (and subconscious mind) is the governing force of your life. It is the foundation that everything else sits on top of.
When you realize this..hockey sticks.
Everything is going to start changing exponentially for you.
You’ll start to notice change in your day-to-day. a forward mobility in yourself and how you perceive the world.
Suddenly you will be the person who’s also moving forward.
I am of the school of thought that we should not fixate on comparing ourselves to others. However, we should observe surroundings and try to pick up and learn whatever there is of value for us to learn.
In Summation
It feels like people are moving faster than you, because you haven’t figured out how your legs work. So you’re watching people who are moving, but you can’t figure out how they're doing it. Not realizing that you’re sitting on a pair of legs that would gladly lift you up as well, if you put your attention on your legs and realized that they were there.
Either look down, and see what you have right in front of you and do something about it, or keep watching the world zip by.
If you’re reading this blogpost, I’m fairly certain that you don’t want to watch the world zip by.
